Sunday School

We have special programs for children on Sunday morning during the worship service for children from newborns through middle school. Nursery care is available during the entire worship service for babies and toddlers. Our older children enjoy worship with their parents in our "gymnasium sanctuary" at the beginning and ending of our service, they stay with us for three songs and a Children's Homily / Blessing, leave for Sunday School, and return for Holy Communion.

Preschool through middle schoolers have their own age-appropriate classes during the adults' teaching and prayer portion of the service. One of our core values at Church of the Holy Spirit is to support our children and their parents' efforts to raise them. We offer a safe, fun environment where children can "know and grow" in Jesus Christ. Apart from our Nursery, our Children's Ministry is currently divided into three classes:

  • Preschool  (this class includes 3 and 4 year olds) and Kindergarten

  • 1st grade through 4th grade

  • 5th grade through Middle School

 

 

 

 

A lesson is provided for all ages above nursery. Leaders are provided with in-house developed curriculum that allow for lessons to be adapted to the leaders' strengths and the children's needs.  

Our entire church focuses on the same scriptures and basic lesson each week, following the "E100", the Essential 100 Challenge Bible Study. In 2009, we studied 50 lessons in the Old Testament. The focus in 2010 will be on the New Testament.

Bible
School

Church of the Holy Spirit's Vacation Bible School is the summer's highlight for many children. 

Our VBS is a “You are there” outdoors experience!  Dressed in ancient era costumes, children, teens, and adults will experience the Bible as never before. Exciting dramas on our torch-lit stage, authentic foods, crafts like brick making, even chariot rides make this an unforgettable week! This VBS is for children 5 and above. It is a particular favorite for upper elementary and  middle school kids. Toddlers and preschoolers are always welcome if accompanied by a parent.
